No farming: no food!
Farmers are playing a vital role in our modern lives and we tend to forget how important they are. Brocoli does not grow on grocery shelves!
To produce organic food, farmers have to respect standards, maintain records, be audited every year by an inspector that will scrutinize their production practices and, most of all, find the appropriate market where to sell their products. And pay the certification fees!
These are the burdens; but what are the positive aspects? What is the satisfaction linked to organic farming? The merit of working close to nature? The proudness of harvesting a rich crop?
Please share with us what you enjoy about being a farmer, and above all, an organic farmer!
Thanks!

“My father did not tell me how to live. He lived, and let me watch him do it.” – author unknown
This is our goal for our lives: to set an example for our children. That we are able to do so in harmony with nature as God created it, using the resources that He provides, is a great blessing.

I do not like being a organic farmer any more, though once I did; I am of the strong opinion that the organic industry has been ruined by bureaucracy and soforth, thereby making the “organic standards council” the “monsanto” of the organic industry;they not only want to control those who will buy into the regime but they are trying their best to control those who raise product the way it should be and to the standard that it should be and allowing the consumer to be the inspect and judge the producer as they develop a one on one grower to consumer relationship.
